A very unusual piece featuring a panel of early pique work c1850 - gold studs inlaid in shell - in the shape of a swan stretching its wings on the water, with bushes in front and a tree behind. This is held inside a large, round rolled rose gold locket with hinged glass door to the rear. A lovely bold pendant!
It would be possible to separate the pique panel and the locket, if desired, but they fit well together and are approximately contemporaneous.
MEASUREMENTS: 1 7/8" diameter. 20.9g in weight.
CONDITION: Good, wearable condition. Some of the gold inlay pieces are missing from the pique panel but the design is still clear. The rolled gold is in good order with only a little loss to the edges here and there - please view all close-up photographs. Any display chains/boxes shown are for photography purposes only.
