A most adorable and unusual design to this Victorian pendant, c1860, featuring a curly-tailed serpent coiling protectively around a shell, as if to say - the world is MY oyster!
The serpent's head is set with a little row of natural turquoises, and its face is really quite adorable. The coil at the end of the tail equally so, it has so much personality.
The detail on this is just fabulous, and the design so unique.
To the rear is a tiny little surprise, an adorable locket compartment!
The gold tests as solid 9K with a higher carat wash over the top, slightly more so on the shell than the snake.
