This amazing Victorian silver chain c1880 features two large, sculptural horse head sliders which move freely up and down the five-strand foxtail chains. They are both double-sided, and certainly rather bold!
Originally designed as a watch chain, it can be used in a variety of ways, either around the neck or wrist, when paired with other similar chains or an extender. At its current length it's slightly too large to use as a bracelet on its own and too short for a necklace. See last pic of it connected to a niello chain to create a longer length necklace.
It has a lovely big original dog-clip clasp which fastens perfectly.
MEASUREMENTS: 26.8g in weight. 10 5/8" end to end. Approx. 13/16" width of horse head.
CONDITION: Very good, wearable antique condition. One of the sliders has a dark spot to the back of the horse's head on one side, could possibly be polished off with patience. Please view all close-up photos. Any display forms/chains shown are for photography purposes only.
