What a little piece of history! An exceptional example of 1800s sentimental hair art, in a glittering 15K gold (tested) mount of beautiful rich colour. Behind a glass to the front, the hair of one or more much-loved person has been expertly transformed into an artful wreath of forget-me-not flowers. So fine, so detailed!
This has every appearance of being a sentimental keepsake or love token, rather than a mourning piece - it's rather cheerful and celebratory, not at all morbid, and very wearable.
The gold features very fine granulated wirework decorations, just as perfect and well-preserved as the tiny precise flowers inside.
To the rear is a gorgeous locket compartment containing only a blue silk, secured by four pins within little barrel chambers - a special touch rarely seen in lockets and a sign of superior workmanship!
The 15K chain shown in some of the photos is also available in this shop update and would make a great match!
