This extremely beautiful pendant boasts an unusual combination of a cross, a heart, a moonstone and an excellent hallmark! Lovely clear assay stamps for Birmingham and 9K gold with a slightly ambiguous date letter (the letter style looks more like 1915 but the alignment of the passants are more 1890), but it's definitely one of those - I'd lean towards the latter - and there's also a good maker's mark for S Blanckensee & Son Ltd Frederick Street & Great Hampton Street, Birmingham.

The smoothly carved moonstone heart has wonderfully bright, glowing blue adularescence (the mysterious blue glow moonstones are prized for), which appears to move around the stone as it turns. It looks wonderful set against the smooth and unadorned, slightly rosy gold of the cross. Nice big generous bail loop to the top which looks original.

Very wearable, would make a perfect everyday piece. Makes a lovely match with the fancy 9K chain with which it is shown in some of the photos, this is also available separately in this week's update!

MEASUREMENTS: 1.5" top to bottom not including the top loop. 4.4g in weight.

CONDITION: Very good, wearable antique condition with only superficial surface wear, no damage to the moonstone or dents/noticeable scratches to the cross. There is a very little bit of grime behind the edges of the moonstone in the open-backed setting, only really visible at the very bottom, not very noticeable. Please view all close-up photos. Any display chains/boxes shown are for photography purposes only.
