A very sweet little locket dating to the Victorian era c1870. Appears solid gold in wear but is gold cased (a thick outer layer of gold, much thicker than gold fill) in 15K gold. Set with a trefoil leaf design with cute little gold stem to the top, claw set with three lovely natural almandine garnets (possibly foiled) in a deep pinkish red shade.
To the rear is a locket compartment with intact glass cover, currently housing a lock of dark blonde hair.
MEASUREMENTS: Just a hair under 3/4" diameter. 3.5g in weight.
CONDITION: Lovely, wearable antique condition with minor superficial surface wear including a few small surface abrasions to the rear glass, please view all close-up photos. On close inspection a couple of flakes of gold case are observed to be missing from the edges. Any display forms/chains are shown for photography purposes only.
