A very pretty late Georgian/early Victorian sentimental/mourning type locket c1840, in vacant condition with no existing contents or engravings - ready for your re-use! Constructed in solid rosy coloured gold of at least 9K (tested), with a 'halo' of lovely graduated pearls to the border and finely granulated gold border surrounding the locket glass window.

Very nice locket compartment accessed through the rear via a little hinged door with a curved crystal glass. The front bevelled locket window is larger than the rear, so the edges of the rear door can be glimpsed through the front if the locket has no contents, this would be hidden by a photograph, portrait or similar.

Matching original integrated bail loop to the top also set with pearls.

Elegant and useable!

MEASUREMENTS: 24mm (15/16") diameter. 6.4g in weight.

CONDITION: Good, wearable antique condition for its great age, with only superficial surface wear. The pearls are a creamy colour overall with some a little darkened towards the bail. The locket window closes safely and securely. Please view all close-up photos. Any display chains/boxes shown are for photography purposes only.
